   Get the project

   Run git clone https://github.com/umami-software/umami.git, then cd umami. The repository provides a Docker Compose file.

   Start with Docker Compose

   Run docker compose up -d. This runs Umami with a PostgreSQL database. The separately documented image download command is docker pull docker.umami.is/umami-software/umami:latest.

   Start collecting analytics

   Once Umami is running, add your website, install the tracking script, and open the website dashboard.

• MCP clients: Claude, ChatGPT, and Cursor

  The official MCP server offers read-only analytics tools and respects website and team permissions. For self-hosting, set MCP_ENABLED=1 and authenticate with an API key generated under Settings → API keys.

• Stripe, Paddle, Polar, Dodo Payments, WooCommerce, and Lemon Squeezy

  Connect these payment sources to Umami Cloud. Payments and refunds sync automatically every hour into revenue reports.
